Hydro™ Bow-Fishing Series

 

Created in 2007, the Hydro Bow-Fishing Series is made up of two adaptors that mate the Firenock lighted nock system with either a standard carbon or standard fiberglass bow-fishing arrow.  Read more below about how these adaptors allow your Firenock system to remain in salt water for weeks on end.

 

Hydro™ Bow-Fishing Adaptor for 5/16" Fiberglass Arrows (BF)

To best understand how this adaptor can be used, study the diagram above and follow along with the installation procedure below.

If the back of your fiberglass arrow has a pre-drilled hole and you are hunting big game, follow these steps first before continuing to step 3 below.

  1. Measure and mark 0.3" away from the pre-drilled hole toward the back of your arrow.

  2. Cut away the back of your arrow using the mark you just made.

  3. Dry fit your adaptor to the new back of your arrow to ensure that the holes can match and are matched up.

  4. Use slow set epoxy (i.e. AGUSSE) to glue the adaptor to the back of the arrow.

  5. After ensuring that the epoxy is set (we recommend waiting overnight), pin the adaptor to the back of the arrow.

If the back of your fiberglass arrow does not have a pre-drilled hole, begin here.  

  1. Use slow set epoxy (i.e. AGUSSE) to glue the adaptor to the back of the arrow.

  2. (Optional) After ensuring that the epoxy is set (we recommend waiting overnight), drill and pin the adaptor to the back of the arrow.

  3. Roll the included O-ring on the neck of the nock.

  4. Build your Firenock lighted nock system.

  5. Smear a small amount of bow wax or silicon grease onto the O-ring.  This will assist in establishing a water-tight seal.

  6. Push the lighted nock system into the adaptor until the O-ring sits perfectly within its grove at the back of the adaptor.

 

Hydro™ Internal Bow-Fishing Adaptor for Carbon Arrows (BI)

To best understand how this adaptor can be used, study the diagram above and follow along with the installation procedure below.

If the back of your carbon arrow has a pre-drilled hole and you are hunting big game, follow these steps first before continuing to step 3 below.

  1. Measure and mark 0.75" away from the pre-drilled hole toward the back of your arrow.

  2. Cut away the back of your arrow using the mark you just made.

  3. Dry fit your adaptor to the new back of your arrow to ensure that the holes can match and are matched up.

  4. Use slow set epoxy (i.e. AGUSSE) to glue the adaptor to the back of the arrow.

  5. After ensuring that the epoxy is set (we recommend waiting overnight), pin the adaptor to the back of the arrow.

If the back of your fiberglass arrow does not have a pre-drilled hole, begin here.  

  1. Drill a 1/8" blind hole at 0.75" from the back of the hollow arrow.

  2. Use slow set epoxy (i.e. AGUSSE) to glue the adaptor to the back of the arrow.

  3. After ensuring that the epoxy is set (we recommend waiting overnight), pin the adaptor to the back of the arrow.

  4. Roll the included O-ring on the neck of the nock.

  5. Build your Firenock lighted nock system.

  6. Smear a small amount of bow wax or silicon grease onto the O-ring.  This will assist in establishing a water-tight seal.

  7. Push the lighted nock system into the adaptor until the O-ring sits perfectly within its grove at the back of the adaptor.

  1. Drill a 1/8" blind hole at 0.75" from the back of the hollow arrow.

  2. Use slow set epoxy (i.e. AGUSSE) to glue the adaptor to the back of the arrow.  Make sure that the hole you drilled matches up with the adaptor.

  3. Install full safety slide system onto the arrow via the  

  4. After ensuring that the epoxy is set, roll the included O-ring on the neck of the nock.

  5. Build your Firenock lighted nock system.

  6. Smear a small amount of bow wax or silicon grease onto the O-ring.

  7. Push the entire lighted nock system into the adaptor until the O-ring sits perfectly within its grove at the back of the adaptor.
