2018: The SportWeave™ Series

Already this year, we at Firenock have ventured into the arrow-making business with the AeroWeave™ Series.  A great success, this unique take on the arrow has become an integral part of many a shooter's kit.  For those, however, who find AeroWeave to have a bit of a hefty price tag, we introduce the SportWeave Series.  Designed as all Firenock products are, every aspect of this arrow's design has been optimized: spine, weight and strength, and, especially here, cost with a 55% decrease in price from AeroWeave.  To comprehend how exactly we indeed "optimized" this arrow, continue reading.

What's The Difference?

The Weave Outer Shell.  Before going forward, we highly suggest that you look to our AeroWeave page to learn more about our anomalous weave design.  For those who would just like a recap and/or already familiar with our weave design, hover over each of the images below, left to right, for a summary.

This is an example of what other carbon fiber weaves on the market can look like.  The standard weave to weave ratio is 2:1 and sometimes, even 3:1.

For our aeros however, the Firenock weave to weave ratio is 1:1.  With such a ratio, no gaps and thus an all around balanced strength from all sides and axes can be achieved.  Effects like torque and torsion (as defined and discussed on our AeroWeave page linked above), can be minimized and in some cases completely avoided.

Now, after understanding the basic characteristics and advantages of our weave, its important to note how and how much of this weave we use for the AeroWeave versus the SportWeave.  To start, for the AeroWeave, there are actually three separate and unique layers of this 3.5K weave.  However, like the header of this section suggests, for the SportWeave, our 3.5K weave only makes up one layer: the "outer shell."  This means that SportWeave still has all the awesome benefits of AeroWeave, just not to the same spectacular degree.

As for other details, here's a quick rundown.  Due to our proprietary process, we believe it is now inconsequential to home in on straightness.  Why?  Well, for those who are interested, the "worst" arrow we offer now has about a 0.0015" straightness.  But further, we have also proven that any arrow that is within 0.005" straightness can and will shoot EXACTLY like others of better straightness as long as it is built with the right tools, approach, and with the correct components (see the "For Prep" section of our website to learn more).  And what about consistency?  Well, in addition to the fact that each batch of Firenock shafts are factory sorted and marked within +/- 1 grains of each other, we will try our best to ensure that each of the arrows in your batch will have the same weight all around.  And finally, price?  MSRP for AeroWeave and SportWeave is are $159.95 and $89.95 respectively.

Carbon arrow assembly.  What exactly makes a finished carbon arrow different from another?  Variables such as type(s) of insert(s), type of shaft, workmanship, vane placement, etc. are often the things people first think about.  And, this time, with the SportWeave, we agree!  All those variables and more are indeed what we believe make a finished carbon arrow exceptional. For this reason, SportWeave carbon arrows will only be sold via our Certified and Trained Firenock Pro Shops.  At Firenock, we have no doubt that in the hands of a real pro, SportWeave, though only the second best shaft on the market (just behind AeroWeave, of course), can give you the best "bang for your buck".  Both literally and figuratively.  Good luck!

***Make sure to check the box "Certified and Trained Dealer"

Note : Although SportWeave246/300 shafts do not come with any arrow components, AeroInserts muct be purchased at the time of shaft purchase.  SportWeave246, just like AeroWeave246, accepts any standard 0.246" ID components like AIA24A/S, AIH24A/S with CTI240, or a Firenock "S" style nock.  And like AeroWeave300, SportWeave300 too accepts any standard 0.300" ID components like AIA30A/B/S, AIH30A/B/S with CTI300, AIH3GS & AIH3LA/B/C/S with CTI30L, or Firenock "C"/"D2"/"J"/"Q"/"V"/"U" style nocks.
